It is that time of year again when outside sources are contacting our local businesses for advertising. Please be aware of "endorsement" quotes from these advertisers. If they utilize any of the following as organizations endorsing thier product, please contact the Chamber office immediately for verification: Newcastle Public Schools (Donna Morris) or the Newcastle Chamber Office.
There are two different companies contacting businesses for advertising on a McClain County 911 directory (which is actually a 3x5 magnet and is NOT distributed by anyone locally) and a McClain County map. Neither one of these agencies are endorsed by the Chamber nor is the Chamber distributing these items. These agencies are also NOT located in the state of Oklahoma.
Also be aware that sometimes these agencies will offer to "fax" you information regarding thier product or services. They include "fineprint" which states that if you do not contact them back, this order will proceed.
We are here to protect your efforts to contribute locally while also promoting your business. The Newcastle Chamber will be producing a city map again shortly and will be contacting you for possible advertising, along with our annual production of the community guide. Please do not hesitate to contact the Chamber regarding any concerns over potential wastes of your money. If we do not have an answer for you, we will get one!!! You matter to us!!! |

Business Exchange Luncheon - July 20, 2010
Speaker/Topic: CANDIDATE FORUM/MEET AND GREET
Although all candidates seeking political office in 2010 have been invited to attend, only those local candidates who face opposition in the July 27 primary will be answering questions. Candidates for the office of District Judge and State Senate (Republican only drew opposition) will be answering questions. Federal and larger State offices are difficult to recruit attendance.
We will be coordinating additional forums/meet and greets after the primaries to attempt to cover the areas of interest for the November elections. State Questions are available online for review as well as candidates for office in our area.
**Note date change due to Primary Elections and Location change to Newcastle Storm Shelter, between Fire and Police Stations.
**NEW Program** Bring your business cards and
submit for a chance to win your next lunch on us!!!
February Winner: Sam Gilliam, McRay Denton Vision Center
March Winner: Kelly Speck, Keller Williams Realty
April Winner: Cindy Frizzell, Full Circle Management
May Winner: James Chappell, O G & E
June Winner: Glenda Morrison, Kairos Services, LLC
PAY IT FORWARD
Have you started seeing $2.00 bills floating around town? Hopefully you have. In our efforts to continue to encourage local spending, we are now presenting $2.00 bills as door prizes at the Business Exchange Luncheons. Could you be our next winner? Come to the monthly luncheon for your chance to win a lunch on us or $2.00?

This Election Year -- It's About Jobs! The Prosperity Project: Your Resources for an Informed Workplace on Election Day
Nearly every Oklahoma voter is an employee, an employer, or a retiree. We must elect Democrats, Republicans, and Independents who know what it takes to keep Oklahoma competitive in the global marketplace and will grow our state.
Sponsored by The State Chamber of Oklahoma, the Prosperity Project is a partnership of nearly 1,400 leading businesses, trade associations, and local chambers of commerce dedicated to helping Oklahomans "vote smart" on Election Day.
Oklahoma's Prosperity Project is a nonpartisan, election education service. The Prosperity Project does not endorse candidates. It does not tell you how to vote. That important decision is up to you!
The Prosperity Project encourages every employee to:
-
-
Be informed. In June, use this site to find out who is running in your district for Congress and State Legislature. In July, we'll show you where these candidates say they stand on issues that affect Oklahoma's business climate and jobs.
This year, we'll also cover races for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Superintendent of Public Instruction, and other statewide contests.
-
Vote on Election Day.
Employers: Sign up for your Election Toolkits. We'll email you click-and-print voter registration and get-out-the-vote breakroom posters, email messaging, payroll stuffers, staff meeting talking points, and other useful tools keep your employees informed before Election Day.
These materials are provided free of charge, thanks to support from The State Chamber's Champion Investors. |
