Differentiation Strategies for Financial Advisors

Your Carriage Trade Marketing Plan

John's Monthly FPA blog

Greetings!

Greetings
Happy Holidays!

This newsletter provides more information and ideas to help you enhance your communication with and value for your clients. If you have topics we could include that would help your practice, let us know. We would love to hear from you.

Our January webinar helps you identify the aspects of your practice that are distinctly yours and provides tips to help you communicate that individuality to clients and prospects.  We have included with this newsletter an article to get you started thinking about ways your practice might be unique.

The holiday season and the new year are great times to connect with clients, prospects and centers of influence.  The second main article in this newsletter addresses some tools you can use to keep in touch and offers a workshop to help you coordinate all your connection and marketing activities.

Differentiation Strategies for
Financial Advisors

Make 2011 the year you tell your story better than any other financial advisor and attract your ideal clients. In a January 13 webinar

John will share with financial advisors how to identify their strongest differentiators to attract business. Developing a unique story and integrating it into every aspect of the practice is key to communicating your individuality.

Every advisor is different and there is great power in understanding the seven common characteristics financial advisory practices use to differentiate themselves. Once you identify the characteristics that define your practice and why you connect so well with some clients and not as well with others, you can build on that knowledge and awareness. The webinar will address how to:

  • Identify the differentiators that set your practice apart
  • Develop and refine your unique story
  • Repeat your story throughout every client touchpoint
  • Complete your story through integration into every aspect of your practice
  • Use your differentiators to eliminate the competition

Connecting With Prospects

The holiday season and the first of the year are great times to connect with people.  I don't know about you but I often struggle to find an excuse to call some of the people I know.  During the holiday season you can connect with prospects, clients and colleagues to wish happy holidays.  Once the holidays are over, here are a few tools to help you maintain connections over the rest of the year.

The tools that can help you maintain those connections are LinkedIn, SendOutCards and integrating those connections into your marketing plan.

LinkedIn

LinkedIn is one of my favorite tools for connecting.  Inviting someone to connect with you begins the process.  LinkedIn then helps you maintain contact by publicizing changes to your connection's LinkedIn Profile, Connections and Groups.  (more)
John Comer photoOf course, if you would like even more support, we would be happy to talk to you about our work.  Our program, Defining your Carriage Trade Experience, helps you identify your target market and ideal client profile, create a marketing plan to penetrate that market and align your client service with the needs of that market.  We also create communication tools (brochures, web sites and presentations) to help you make a powerful first impression, define a customized project to meet your strategic marketing goals and provide flexible coaching to keep you on track.

Let me know how I can help you.

Comer Consulting, LLC, helps financial advisors define their Carriage Trade Experience and communicate their individuality.  The term "carriage trade" started in the early 1900s as shop owners began going out to the carriages of their wealthy customers rather than requiring the customers to come into the stores.  Like those shop owners who found ways to provide an extra level of service to their most important patrons; we believe today's financial services professionals need to find a way to provide extra value for their clients.  Today's financial services professionals need to meet their clients at the curb.  Comer Consulting is here to help.
