From the Desk of Dr. Dubec...

We would like to welcome our students and staff back from a restful and rejuvenating winter break.   As I look over our upcoming calendar, our break came at just the right time to prepare us for the many upcoming events in the next weeks and months ahead.

The second half of the school year is sure to fly by with blazing speed as we plan for and enjoy the many events taking place.  After much preparation, we look forward to South's drama production, High School Musical 2 at Stagg High School this weekend.  We then have Kindergarten Registration taking place during the first week of February at East and West, wrapping up with Kindergarten Visitation at week's end February 5. The PFA Father Daughter Dance will be held at South on February 6, and the students have classroom parties to look forward to as well.

Throughout these busy times, our teachers will be preparing the students for the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT) to be administered during the first week of March.  To ensure your child is at his/her best on these test days, I encourage parents to make sure their children have a good night's sleep, and a healthy breakfast before going to school.

I wish you a new year filled with peace, health, and happiness.

Sincerely,
Dr. Joseph Dubec, Ed.D., J.D.
Superintendent of Schools

Be Prepared for Winter Weather

west-winter shot We may get teased with a hint of spring, but the threat of inclement weather is not yet behind us.  In addition to snow days, we have a one-hour late start option to provide an additional solution for poor weather situations. The late start would delay all school and bus operations by one hour.  For complete information on late start days and school closings, please check our website at:
