Mastercam X6 MU2 Has Been Released!

Using Mastercam X6 to its Fullest - Better Hybrid Machining

Mastercam has received a lot of positive feedback on our hybrid finishing toolpath. They also got some suggestions on how to improve it and help deliver a better finish. One such improvement is "filler passes" which now maintain all of the Z level cuts in steep areas of your part while filling in the shallow areas with scallop motion within a single Z section. It combines the best of both worlds with waterline (constant Z) motion and scallop where needed. In X5, shallow areas occasionally resulted in 3D collapse (essentially scallop) motion for all Z cuts at that level. Now you can have both waterline and scallop motion at the same Z section, section after section. The result is much better finish and more efficient use of the tool.

Baseball Promotion for the IMTS Show Coming Soon!

 
 Next week CNC Software will be kicking off a new baseball-themed promotion on Facebook. The contest will begin on Monday, August 6th and will end on Friday, August 31st.

Each Monday, Mastercam will give you a chance to get on base (or advance to another base) and prizes will be awarded for each base you get to. The more bases you get on, the better your chance of winning multiple prizes.

Mastercam X6 to be the Last Release that Supports Windows XP and Vista OS 

Mastercam X6 is the last release that will support the Microsoft Windows XP and Vista operating systems. Starting with Mastercam X7, you will not be able to install Mastercam X7 on the Microsoft Windows XP or Vista operating systems.

Mastercam Night Classes Will Be Back in September!

Throughout May, OptiPro held a 4-week Mastercam Night Course on different aspects of Mastercam Design, Mill Level 1, Mill Level 2, and Mill Level 3. The class began with the basic concepts of Mastercam and progressed into geometry definition, 2D toolpath, 3D contouring and surface machining.

Due to the recent success of this program, OptiPro plans to hold another Mastercam Night Course in September with the same curriculum.
