Tech Tip: Converting Post Processors from X5 to X6

After installing X6, you will need to convert post processors from X5 to X6. Here is how you go about it:

• Go to File > Update Folder

• Select the following to update your machine definition, control definitions, and posts (Please note: example below is using Windows 7)

• For Windows XP the directories will be located where the Arrows point above
• From this source folder - C:\documents and settings\shared\shared documents\mcamx5
• To this destination folder - C:\documents and settings\shared\shared documents\mcamx6

***Note: This will work as well if the files are stored to the "server" instead of the local computer. However, the files must not be "written" to the same directories as the files are "read" from.

$200,000 in Funding Available to Train Your Current Employees - Applications Now Being Accepted

The Workforce Investment Board of Monroe County/Rochester has made available Federal grant funds to small and medium sized businesses in Monroe County to address employer demands for skilled workers and upgrade the skills of their employees earning between $10.00 - $25.00 per hour. Organizations may request up to $20,000 per application for training that must be completed by June 30, 2012.

Customized Training grants provide funds to businesses to train employed workers in specific skills needed by the business or industry leading to potential career growth, job retention and increased wages. As a result of training, eligible trainees should attain in-demand, transferable skills or industry-recognized certifications/credentials. Training should also relate to one or more of the following purposes: introduction to new technology, introduction of a new service or the ability to serve an underserved population, and/or upgrading to new jobs that require additional skills.

Applicants are required to provide matching funds equal to the amount of funds requested. Payments are made on a reimbursable basis once training is completed and cost and trainee documentation is submitted. Applicants must comply with New York State Labor Law.
