CJK Thermoforming Solutions Says Buying Hurco is a Good Investment |
Tim Tutty is the Machine Centers Manager at CJK Thermoforming Solutions, located in Rochester, NY. The company specializes in aluminum molds for thermoforming. To create these molds, Mr. Tutty needed a machine that can run for extended periods of time while maintaining the required mold accuracies. CJK invested in a Hurco VMX42S Vertical Machining Center two years ago to fulfill their needs, and they couldn't be happier with its performance.
When asked whether the Hurco is giving CJK the precision and accuracy they need, Mr. Tutty said, "100 percent. In fact, we just made a steel punch on it and there was no error at all. That's why we chose to do it on that machine. It makes it possible for us to produce molded parts to our customer's standards."
Dependable? "I would say very dependable," said Mr. Tutty. "We can run it right through the weekend unattended. I'll program it to do a whole mold on Friday, we'll leave, and it'll be done Monday morning. Just set it and forget it."
Noisy? Hardly. "It's a quiet running machine, a very nice running machine. Just that alone is great."
He concluded the interview by stating that the main reason for purchasing the Hurco was because it is a good investment. "Some jobs that take companies months to do, we can do in a significantly less amount of time." That kind of advantage over the competition will undoubtedly result in more business for CJK Thermoforming Solutions.

Thanks to Section 179, Buying a Machine Just Became Easier |
If you are on the fence about buying a new machine, the government is making it easier to decide. As part of Section 179 of the IRS tax code, companies can deduct the first $250,000 purchased on equipment in 2009 from their taxable income in 2008. Companies that spent between $250,000 and $800,000 on manufacturing equipment in 2009 are eligible to receive this deduction in full. Since the act is designed for small businesses, the deduction begins to phase out for companies that spend between $800,000 and $1,050,000. Companies that spend more than $1,050,000 are not eligible for the deduction. The machine(s) purchased must be placed into service by December 31st, 2009 to qualify for the huge savings, so there has never been a better time to buy than right now.
