Michael CowleyHello to all Newsletter Readers,

This month we are going to stray from the usual format of providing a Maintenance Management Tip in order to announce a new program we are in the process of kicking off. For years clients, customers, and people I have spoken with have asked me:

"How do I develop an Asset Management Program when I do not have administrative assistance, a computer, and no funds to purchase an off-the-shelf Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)?"

Because of all of those comments, we have developed the answer. We are kicking off "RAMP" (Remote Asset Management Program). This is how the program works:
  • You gather all of your critical asset information such as manufacturer, serial number, size, age, preventive maintenance recommendations, etc.
    • Or, if you prefer, we will come to your site and gather the information for you.
  • We enter your information into our database and set the frequency based on your knowledge of the equipment, our expertise, and the manufacturer's recommendation.
  • When the due date comes up, we will mail you your preventive maintenance check lists, procedures, and if you want, the suggested replacement parts list needed to complete the PM.
  • You return them to us with your corrective work orders you have completed for that period.
Your Benefits:
  • We track and trend all of your data just as if you had a clerk or planner performing the work in your office and,
  • We will do all of this for a reasonable monthly fee which will be based upon the number of assets in your facility or plant.
We currently have two Beta sites in the testing process, one on the West coast and the other on the East coast. As the testing process progresses, we will be providing updates on how the program is progressing, client comments and more in upcoming newsletters or special mailings.

We are all very excited about RAMP and hope, if you have questions or would like additional information, you will contact us. This may be the perfect solution for you.

Next month, we will be returning to our usual format with a Tip of the Month:

How to Make Backlog Work for You

Have a great month!
