let's begin......
The word meditation carries with it such a variety of expectations or mystery. Whenever someone uses it, it paints all kinds of pictures for people. For some people, the pictures don't seem to be all that enticing. The use of the word here would be better served with maybe "rest". Take 10 minutes to just rest. Rest your mind. 10 minutes to just stop thinking.
Oh no!! I just got this funny little analogy.....smoking. It is like taking a smoking break for those ex-smokers. Think about it. Smokers usually say that they need to have a cigarette to calm down. There is nothing in a cigarette that calms you down. They are filled with stimulants. They may ease the nicotine addiction but stick with me here. What really happens when a person goes to have a cigarette. They have to leave the space they are in and go outside and then stand around taking in big deep breaths for about 10 minutes....lol.
Same principle without the nasty side effects. Give yourself a time out of about 10 minutes to take some deep breaths of air, clear your mind and relax. You can do this walking, sitting, running.....NOT driving though. Find time in your day to let your mind quiet.

For me, this was such a turning point. To understand that feelings were the way that Source/my Inner Being was communicating with me was something I had never heard before. I come from a family that was all about not showing emotion. Emotions were a sign of weakness and so on and so on. Somehow it made sense though. Why else would God have given us something that we wouldn't have a use for.
Emotions=Communication. It is how Spirit gets our attention. Makes complete sense. Once I started playing with this concept, my life changed. How the heck did I miss that one? Sometimes it gets tricky when I have a knee jerk response to something that I am not really wanting. But with some practice I have found that my feelings don't let me down. The more sensitive I get to how I feel, the better I feel in general. The better I feel the more I find my life experience bringing to me all the things I could ever hope for. Sure I still have some resistant or limiting thoughts that I want to turn around but cleaning up my emotional vibration has made all the difference
