Is Your Head In The Game...

"Get your head in the game!
You have to learn and understand the plays, then work the field
before you'll ever be able to score any goals!

Aaaahhhh... the soccer field. How I miss those Saturdays in my beach chair on the wet-dewed field. My son Davis has been playing soccer for over 20 years. At the age of four he started playing in the "ice cream league." Not for the ice cream mind you, his grandparents owned a Swensen's Ice Cream Parlor... He truly loved the game! Although most of his soccer career has been spent in the goalie box, his senior year in high school found him on the field... literally heading balls into the goal (see picture).

Davis' coaches all preached the same message... you've got to get your head in the game, learn the plays and work the field before you'll ever be able to score any goals. Davis learned the plays early, perfected the pitch and stopped more goals than ever made it past him. His head was definitely in the game. Soccer defined him for most of his pre-adult life.

As Christians, we understand the need to play "defense" against the act of abortion. We comprehend the "penalties" of not saving the unborn. We even understand that every now and then we need to "pass" to someone else to take that "goal kick." However sometimes we miss the "opening play" of helping to heal those hurting.

If we are not willing to learn ALL the plays in the playbook...
then how do we ever expect God to help us win the game?!

Tomorrow, April 1st, starts Abortion Recovery Awareness Month (ARAM).

ARAM was established in 2005 as a way to encourage and extend healing opportunities to individuals and families hurting from an abortion experience.

During the month of April, ARIN affiliates and advocates enlighten society by reaching out to others in their community through many different venues. A "play" of compassion! An Abortion Recovery Awareness Calendar for the month of April is established each year providing ideas and resources.

Abortion Recovery Awareness Month is secular- friendly. It is free of condemnation, judgment or negative connotations. It has no political agenda!

The ultimate "goal" is to share compassionate abortion recovery efforts with others and offer help, healing and hope!

To assist those wishing to promote Abortion Recovery Awareness Month, feel free to complete the Principles of Participation and review our line of Awareness Products (dvd's, pins, magnets, books, etc) to help to encourage healing.

Although ARAM is not a political event, we have been honored to have the support of a few government officials who believe there is a great need for after abortion healing.  Please feel free to visit our website and take a sneak peak at the Proclamations and Resolutions from Governors Perry, Jindal, Branstad and Pawlenty and Senators Crowe and Vitter.

If your city, state or church representative might be interested in signing a Proclamation... there is a sample Proclamation designed especially for you.
