What do you do to feel renewed of the day to day pressures and grind that we all experience? Is there an action you accomplish? A place you visit? A friend you call? 

Each of us do something different to renew our lives... sometimes daily, weekly ~ sometimes annually. Like a family vacation.

I was raised by an amazing father who loved sailing. I was placed in a small boat at the age of six and taught how to navigate current, determine wind direction and learned the points of sail. Sailing, or just being around the water near boats, totally renews my enthusiasm for life. Visiting my home away from home, on Catalina Island (seen above) also renews my spirit and soul.

Many women, men and family members are hurting in our country due to the pain of abortion. They live with grief, shame, guilt and the complex emotions that only come with the pain of losing an unborn child.

As the President and Founder of Abortion Recovery InterNational, I'm able to speak with individuals each and everyday regarding their past. I'm blessed to be able to give them hope by matching them up with an Abortion Recovery Center / Program in their area.  This gives them the opportunity to have their lives renewed through Christ, through forgiveness and mercy and through the love of others.

In the first six months of 2009, Abortion Recovery InterNational received requests for help through our online CARE Directory from 16,788 people, from 135 countries. We averaged about 100 requests a day, with our highest day being March 25th at 258.

If we calculate that there are over 50 million abortions in the US, and 65% of those people experience some sort of trauma (Vincent Rue), then we can gather that over 32 million people in the country are hurting. That's a heck of a lot of people!

What are we doing as a body of Christ to help people RENEW their lives after an abortion? A trip to Catalina, although peaceful, isn't going to do it! We need to step up and reach out to our church members, clergy, Christian leadership, friends, family and the even the clerk at the grocery store.

Think RECOVERY and how it leads to RENEWAL each time you touch a person's hand ~ you could also be impacting their heart!
