Featured Feline:
Marg

Marg the cat
Marg and Rita came in together because their family was evicted in May. Marg is a very social girl who is still quite independent. These two kiddos get along well together, but they also do just fine on their own. If you do decide to take both into your home, with our TwoFur Felines program, you can adopt Marg and get Rita free!
Compatible Canine:
Cienna

Cienna the dog
Cienna was abandoned on our property in the middle of the October. She is a happy go-lucky girl who is still quite the puppy. She is very strong and tends to pull on the leash. Like any puppy, she would benefit from obedience training based on positive reinforcement. Because of her strength and rambunctious personality, we recommend that any children in the household be older than 12. Cienna needs to go to a very active family, because she has lots of energy to burn! She would do best in a home without cats, as she has a strong chase instinct.

Greetings!

Stella and Mary Elizabeth
Stella and Mary Elizabeth share a moment before heading home together for the first time.

I'd like to share a heartwarming story with you, just in time for Thanksgiving.

When Stella came into our care as a stray in mid-September, she

was so shy and frightened she wouldn't even come to the front of her kennel. It took a lot of gentle patience and kindness to win over the one-year-old Rottweiler mix, and we weren't sure that our efforts were going to be successful. But our work paid off. With caring encouragement from our staff and volunteers, Stella blossomed into a loving, trusting pup.

Last week, this sweet girl was adopted by Mary Elizabeth. I'm not sure who was more ecstatic: Mary Elizabeth, Stella, or me. Stella's story is a marvelous example of how our organization transforms the lives of homeless animals. It is important, life-changing work. Work we could not do without your help.

As we head into the holidays, I am thankful for all the people in our community who have reached out to show their support.

Together we can make a difference-

Volunteer Spotlight: Katlyn Hardecopf

hand and pawKatlyn Hardecopf has been a volunteer with the Cedar Valley Humane Society over a year now. She usually helps out at events or with laundry at the shelter; however, recently she has pitched in to help get our new volunteer web program ready. Katlyn has put in many hours of data entry, so that soon we can move forward with the new program. Katlyn, thanks for being a team player and helping whenever and wherever needed!

Happy Tail: Mango and Jasper Act Like Brothers

I adopted Mango and Jasper at the beginning of October this year. Mango and JasperThey have quickly become my best friends, cuddle buddies, and the highlight of my day! To wake up every morning to see them there to greet me is the greatest feeling!

They love to play together, even though they have a slight age difference. They are both as playful as kittens and show no signs of slowing down! They act like brothers and love each other so much! I love to see how much they grow and open up everyday!

I am so happy about my decision to adopt, and I am even happier that I got the opportunity! Thank you so much, Cedar Valley Humane Society!

Kathryn S.

Remember, YOU can
send us your Happy Tail, too!
