Featured Feline:
Louscion

 Louscion
Louscion and Leonardo came to us together at the end of March because their owner was no longer able to care for them. Louscion (Louie for short) is a free spirit who usually does his own thing. He likes to run free, but when he wants lovin', he'll come to you for it. This boy likes his food, for sure! Come meet Louie and Leonardo today! Save $45 when you adopt them both!
Compatible Canine:
Cory

 Cory
Cory has a lot of energy when he comes out of his kennel, but after the initial burst, he settles down fairly quickly. Because of his tendency to jump, we do require him to go to a home without small children. This big baby loves to have his belly rubbed, so if you're looking for a buddy to take on long walks, and then settle in for lovin' at the end of the day, Cory might be your match!

We Asked, You Answered!

How does your pet react to thunderstorms? How do you comfort them?

Angie Myers Wittmer: My rat terrier hates storms.... I try to distract him if it's during waking hours. If it is at night, he will go into the bathroom & lay by the bathtub until it is over. He hasn't gotten much sleep these past nights!

Steven Klemzak: I'm lucky my dog does not get scared with storms. If it's raining outside she does not wish to go out and go potty.

Kevin J Railsback: Sadie and Sasha could care less about thunderstorms, which is surprising because Sadie was scared by a huge clap of thunder when she was a little puppy. But they both sleep through big storms without a care in the world.

Jess A. Saurus: We have to make "caves" for our scaredy dog Bella, an Italian Greyhound mix. Once she is burrowed deep into a pile of blankets she calms down....

Volunteer Spotlight: Mike and Chuck Johnson

Shout out to Mike and Chuck Johnson!hand and paw Mike and Chuck come in every Thursday morning for several hours to clean the cat condos in one of our adoption rooms. It means so much that we can count on them every Thursday like clockwork.

Thank you, Mike and Chuck, for making a difference in the lives of our shelter cats. You are fabulous volunteers, and we are very fortunate that you choose to volunteer for our organization.

Happy Tail: Bear Happily Romps in his Playground

Bear has been a new friend of the family for almost three weeks, and Bearhe is amazing! He is sociable, but not too needy! I feel so lucky to have him!

Friends and family have commented on what a well-mannered dog he is--this is so true! Bear loves to greet people and make sure he gets enough petting. Our yard is fenced, and it has become his playground. He loves to run and chase his orange ball and bark at the nearby horses. He is so happy!

I am amazed he didn't get adopted early in his stay at the Cedar Valley Humane Society. I am so lucky to have him; he has truly become a welcomed friend! It's such a joy to see the bond he now has with Baby, my Rat Terrier. I enjoy being greeted with his smile when I come home each day!

Thank you,

Carmen B.

Remember, YOU can
send us your Happy Tail, too!
