Featured Feline
Mr. Peepers is a long-time resident of the CVHS, having arrived at our save haven early last August. He loves to play and will lovingly bat at you for more attention if he isn't getting enough. Mr. Peepers isn't afraid to use his voice, either, and will often "talk" loud enough for others to hear his echo down the hall at the shelter. Come meet this outgoing companion today, he is patiently waiting for his forever home.

Stricter Law to Protect Iowa's Animals
Attention animal lovers: Iowa ranks 3rd in the country for puppy mills
with 400+ and the USDA estimates that 23,000+ adult dogs are currently
trapped in puppy mills in our state.
Thankfully, The Puppy Mill Bill was
signed into law by Gov. Culver on March 9th. The Bill allows the state
to investigate any USDA breeding facility upon complaint.
Interested in lobbying for stricter laws? Visit here for more information.
