Gabriel Ensemble Trio Brings Audience Into the Music

The Gabriel Ensemble String Trio will present an interactive display of their art form on Thursday, April 16, 2009. Amy Anderson, cello; and Laura Burian and Vernon Brown, violin, will perform a short chamber music work and then hand out copies of the score. They'll invite the audience to learn to "navigate" the music as they play in order to discover the key "road signs"; how do they stay together; who has the melody; who has the rhythm; who has the harmony; and how do they put that all together.
Their presentation, entitled, "How Does Chamber Music Work", is part of Arts Habitat's event series Arts in Progress: Third Thursdays with Arts Habitat. Arts in Progress showcases the process of making art and invites the audience to discuss and participate. The events are free and open to the public and are held at the YMCA, 600 Camino El Estero in Monterey from 7 to 9 PM. Refreshments are served. Please call 831-624-6111 for more information.
