Heritage Conservancy Receives Grant from TD Bank

Funds to Help Expand School, Community-Based Bristol Gardening Project

Heritage Conservancy received a $5,000 grant from TD Bank to help expand the Conservancy's Bristol Gardening project, a real-time elementary school and community-based sustainable agriculture initiative.

The generosity of the TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank and TD Banknorth, will allow the Conservancy to broaden the scope of the initial project - the design and planting of a perpetual vegetable garden in an area between Lafayette Elementary School and a Winder Village community center in Bristol, Bucks County - to other schools and residents in the area. Conceived as an outdoor-learning classroom, the garden exposes students to the basic duties and skills that are needed to plant and care for garden crops.

Heritage Conservancy Offers Exclusive Opportunity for Ownership of Historic 19th Century Farmhouse

Seeks Steward to Preserve, Enrich Historic Integrity of Restored Salford Township Property

As one of the region's premier guardians of both land and historic property, Heritage Conservancy, an accredited, not-for-profit conservation organization that specializes in preserving our natural and historic heritage, is seeking an interested party for the ownership of its restored King Road farmhouse, subject to preservation easements.

Located in Green Lane, PA., and situated on one of Montgomery County's most picturesque roads, this historic residence is adjacent to over 300-acres of preserved land.

"Whether protecting land or historic property, our goal is to preserve -- in perpetuity -- the quality of life in the area we so proudly call home," said Cliff David, President of Heritage Conservancy. "By transferring the ownership and continued stewardship of this unique property to a long-term guardian while maintaining protection oversight, we can ensure an enduring legacy through the 'next level' enhancement of its cultural and historic aspects."

For over 15 years, the Conservancy's Stewardship service area has pro-actively managed the 139-year old property. The proceeds from the sale will be used to further the Conservancy's mission with regard to land acquisition and protection.

To learn more about this exclusive opportunity, call Heritage Conservancy at 215-345-7020.

WNPV Radio Holds Live Remote at Heritage Conservancy's Preserved Aldie Mansion

Show Discusses Conservation, Historic Preservation and Aldie Legacy

WNPV Radio (1440 AM), an award-winning news/talk/sports station in Lansdale, PA,  recently held a live remote of Darryl Berger's long-running noontime talk show - Comment Please by Univest -- at Heritage Conservancy's preserved Aldie Mansion.

Jeffrey Marshall, VP of Resource Protection and Larry Fiel, Director of Communications, were guests of the hour-long show, which showcased the Conservancy's 50-year effort of preserving our natural and historic heritage.

"Land conservation can be seen as the air we breathe, the water we drink and the food we eat -- and those are nutrients for the body," said Marshall on the show.  "I think of historic preservation as nutrients for the soul.  It makes us feel who we are as a people, what's special about our area compared to another area of our country or the world, and it has emotional and even economic values."

iIn addition, Fiel discussed the availability of renting Aldie Mansion for weddings, events and business meetings.  "Where else can you gather in a breathtaking, historic setting - one where the famous Von Trapp family singers made their American debut in 1941 - and know that you're helping save the environment," he asked, alluding to the fact that proceeds from mansion rentals go toward Heritage Conservancy's mission of conservation.
