Hundreds Attend Day of Cycling; Proceeds Help Protect Our Natural & Historic Resources
Heritage Conservancy partnered with Bill McCoach, owner of Pedal PA, a bicycle touring company, and Indian Valley Bikeworks, a premier cycling shop, to host its annual River-to-River Heritage Bicycle Ride.
With four unique routes from which to choose, the 375+ cyclists, some coming as far as Vermont and Virginia, rode from the Delaware to the Schuylkill Rivers through scenic Bucks and Montgomery counties -- including the historic Route 113 corridor, a Heritage Conservancy-designated Lasting LandscapeŽ.
Supporters included PA State Representative Robert Godshall, who gave the Conservancy a $5,000 grant for its Rt.113 Heritage Tourism initiative, and State Representative Matthew Bradford.
Along with Pedal PA, Indian Valley Bikeworks and the Souderton Mennonite Church -- the hub for the day's events -- the ride was sponsored by the Valley Forge Convention & Visitors Bureau, Tussock Sedge Farm, First Savings Bank of Perkasie and the Bucks County Conference and Tourism Bureau.

KenCrest Gives "Gift of Time" to Heritage Conservancy
Adults in Alternative Program Perform Volunteer Services at Aldie Mansion
Heritage Conservancy was honored with the presence of five developmentally challenged adults and two dedicated staff members from KenCrest Services who volunteered their time at the Conservancy's preserved Aldie Mansion headquarters. By performing the administrative task of collating, assembling and stuffing promotional drawstring bags, the volunteers demonstrated their generosity through an act of pure goodwill.
KenCrest, a 103-year-old non-profit human services agency, is the largest provider of community-based services in the Delaware Valley and Connecticut for people with developmental disabilities.
"The adults in our program never cease to amaze me with their ability to learn and perform," said Cindy Seok, Team Leader for the Pottstown, PA-based
Alternative Program. "We currently support a growing network of individuals from 18-55 years of age and each one rewards me in ways I never thought possible."
