Young Athletes and Families,
We had our first Family Fun Night at the Meridian Boys & Girls club last week and it was a great success. The families and youth that came had a lot of fun and were really excited about having more nights offered throughout the summer. Which is great because that's our plan...And you can be involved too!
Through our partnership with Easter Seals, YMCA, idahoautism.com, Parks and Rec., and the Boys & Girls Club we are offering Family Fun Nights for school aged youths with disabilities and their families. These are nights where youth can play with their siblings and peers and practice the functional & social skills they have been learning through various school based and Easter Seals programs, in a relaxed and fun environment. Families have come together through these various programs to "fill in the gaps" where recreational programs for youth do not offer such programs geared towards families with children who have disabilities.
If you and your family have recognized the same gaps in play activities and would like to be involved, please RSVP to be included in these activities. We will be playing Volleyball, doing a craft and making Homemade Ice Cream! In the future we will be taking Family Field Trips for bowling nights, movie nights and other such local activities. We would love to have your family involved! |

If you have any questions, stories from past Fun Nights you would like to share, or ideas for future Fun Nights, please feel free to email me at any time! I always look forward to hearing stories and ideas from our families. And if you know of friends or other organizations that would benefit from these Fun Nighst, please feel free to forward this email.
Sincerely,
