Hello Special Olympics Athletes, Families and Volunteers!
Through a new partnership with Easter Seals, Special Olympics will now be offering Family Fun Nights for school aged youth with disabilities, their siblings, and their Families. This will be a time for families to relax with one another and have options for play available for all their children. This partnership came in response to the frustrations families in the Treasure Valley were experiencing due to the lack of opportunities their children with disabilities had to participate in a recreational environment with their other siblings and their peers.
We desire to promote environments where youth with disabilities have multiple options for recreational activities for play and social skill development. We will be offering a sporting event each night, such as soccer or basketball. Also, we will be providing an Arts & Craft Activity as well as building Lil' Engineers Lego Kits. Our hope is to provide varied play options for youth to explore multiple ways to connect with their siblings and peers.
