Special Olympics Idaho's Breakfast with Champions Presents
"WON'T YOU BE MY NEIGHBOR: A Behind the Scenes Look at the Work of Fred Rogers"
Special Olympics Idaho is honored to welcome Hedda Sharapan, the as the keynote speaker for the Boise Breakfast With Champions to be held on June 9, 2009. With warmth, humor, and humanness, Hedda Sharapan will share with us some key things she's learned from her 43 years with MISTER ROGERS' NEIGHBORHOOD and Family Communications, Inc., the non-profit company that Fred Rogers founded. As "ambassador on the road" for the Neighborhood, she's a highly sought-after speaker, grounded in Child Development who connects the insight she's gained over the years working closely with Fred Rogers, with behind-the-scenes stories and treasured video segments.
Our featured Athlete Speaker this year is Michael Thomas of the Caldwell Wildcats. Other activities include, the awarding of Special Olympics Idaho's Athlete of the Year, as well as the auctioning of "Mystery Boxes" at each table. Joe Weber from J-105's Pete and Joe show will emcee the event. This is the largest fundraising event of the year for Special Olympics Idaho. There is no cost to attend the Breakfast With Champions, but guests will have an opportunity to make a free will donation. To attend the event, RSVP to Christine at (208) 323-0482 x. 21 or christine@idso.org. |

We will be having a Tip A Cop at the Kootenai River Inn and Casino in Bonners Ferry from 5pm-9pm. If you will be in the area, stop by for dinner served by local Law Enforcement Officers. Would you like to donate some flowers?
We are trying to spice up our awards ceremonies this year, and would like to adorn each of the awards areas with fresh flowers and plants. If you have a beautiful garden, own a flower shop, or just want to buy a bouquet to donate to the cause, we need it! We are looking for flowers for each of the competition venues listed in the schedule of events.
If you have the time and the flowers or plants, please send Corby an email at cg@idso.org letting him know what you plan to drop off and at which venue. Please have the flowers and plants at each venue by 8am on 6/27. |
