Greetings!

I hope this finds you well and enjoying your holiday - Christmas if you celebrate it or at least the joy all around us this time of year - crowded shopping malls notwithstanding!  In whatever form your season takes, I wish you well and look forward to seeing you in 2011.

Create a festive table!
Step One
Step One Table Decor
Cover your table with a large solid color cloth.  Use boxes from around the house to make risers.  In this case, a faucet not installed, and some small shipping boxes rescued from the recycle bin.
(Generally speaking, it's best to scooch the kitty off the table before the food arrives!)
Step Two
Step Two Table Decor
Cover the boxes with a second layer of table cloth - same color if you have it.  I like white or cream.  Spread white lights on white cord throughout the boxes and over the table.

This is done for a buffet, so the table was pushed up to the wall for electrical access, but you can run a cord under the chair - just make sure it's YOUR chair!!
Step Three
Step Three Table Decor
Final step, cover with sheer cloth.  In this case, I used an old drapery sheer.  LOTS of volume and no seams.  A lacy table cloth, light muslin or tulle, depending again on the style of your decor.

Scatter with ornaments or small decorations to suit your theme.  In this case, I like a white table so the food is the standout.

Additionally, I like white ceramic serve ware as seen here.
