I hope this finds you enjoying your holiday season. Personally, we celebrate Christmas and in a big way! I love the season...the decorations (of course), the happy moods of holiday shoppers, even the chilly weather.

I get asked occasionally for special
holiday touches used to decorate my and my clients' homes. My favorite are mini trees. They fit on table tops, kitchen counters or even in the bathroom. The trees don't need to be a repeat of your main tree...many of the ones I've done are by theme or color. If you have a pink bedroom in your little princesses room, you might want to coordinate the color to match. Here are some other ideas:
- Silver bell collection (I have this one in the kitchen and it includes all our family members sterling baby cups!)
- Tea Cups
- Mini Family Photo Tree (the relatives LOVE to see if they've made the tree!)
- Wild Animals, Matchbox Cars or Action Figures
- Train Pieces
- Blown Glass - perhaps you've just started an expensive collection and don't want it lost on your big tree OR would like it some place a little safer. I mini tree is great and you can wire it on securely.

Where to Shop
A fun little destination for Holiday Decor is Real Deals. This is a franchise store that has various locations around the greater Portland area. Each location is independently owned so the stock varies by location. They keep odd hours - Thursday and Saturdays only - but it's worth the trip both for the prices (fantastic) and the holiday selection.
I shop at the Sellwood store. If you're in, tell Kelli or Trish that Pam says "hi"! This Saturday, December 19th from 10am to 5pm, they're having a Toys for Tots Toy Drive. Bring in your new unwrapped toy and receive $5 in Real Deals Sellwood Dollars!
My favorite thing they carry is this tulle that I use to add fill and light to the tree or to a table top. They sell for $18, and is about 3' wide and 15' long. (I used three on a nine-footer and two on a 7-footer.)

 Color of the Month
Okay, so red is an obvious choice for the Christmas season. It's so
cheery and all over the place this season. Red Bows. Red Poinsettias.
Red Ornaments. Santa Claus and Santa Hats. Shiny Wrapping Paper. What's
not to love?
If your favorite color is RED (of course this is
completely non-scientific and only for fun!) - you have a zest for
life; you might be impulsive, competitive, daring, and/or emotional.
Generally you listen to others - while saying little -then do just as
you please!
