ONLY A FEW SPACES STILL AVAILABLE!

Adrian Wilkins and Walter Bacigalupo invite men to experience the difference between struggling and allowing
"As men, too many of us were brought up with some version of the belief that life is tough, and a man's job is to struggle and persevere against it to survive.
Yet, some men appear to have unlimited energy - and the whole world seems to open up to them.  In my experience, these men have learned how to access and allow an unlimited well of male energy that is inherent in each of us, by tapping  into the power of the universe instead of fighting against it," explains Adrian.

If you would like to experience what it feels like to truly allow your power and bring that back into the world with you - allow yourself to sign up for this workshop.  It may be an important step to accessing your male energy.  For more details, please visit The Consciousness Collaborative Classes and Events page.

Greetings!

Ahh...Spring Fever...that time of year when extended sunlight acts as an aphrodisiac...seriously, it's scientifically proven!  It reminds me of an article I read a few weeks ago about a matchmaker who has this 80/20 rule.  She theorizes, if you find someone with 80% of what you're looking for in a mate, this is a viable match.  If you move on, you're likely to find no better than another 80% person - simply a different 80%.  Interesting!

Then the universe kept sending me a message.  "True power is the ability to be true to your self."  I wasn't hearing voices, but the number of ways the message came to me was a little "Field of Dreams-ish."  How does this relate to mating season?

It occurred to me, the real match is the person you're willing to be at least 80% of your true self with.  That's where the real potential lies.  And the most important person to start with is yourself, because we are biologically built to mirror one another!  Others literally reflect our energy.  If you're curious about the science of this, look up "mirror neurons."  So, the big joke, "it's all about me" isn't such a joke after all.  To attract what we want, whether it's a mate, friends, or situation, start at the source - you!

With this in mind, I began asking myself some challenging questions.  "Am I willing to speak my truth, regardless of what someone else might think of me?  Am I willing to live my truth, even if it doesn't fit the clothes I might be wearing?  If I'm not willing to be completely true to myself; do I then find that I'm a little suspicious of everyone else?!"  This last question begins a trust discussion; I'll save that for another newsletter.

In turn, I find myself challenging identities I've created along the way about who I am - very cool stuff!  And, I am abundantly clear: there is no greater power within me than the power to be true to all of who I am...and my willingness to speak it and live it is the manifestation of that power - just as it is yours.  Try it!  Ask yourself the questions I asked.  And begin to notice if you're willing to give yourself "true" answers.  If not, why not?  What do you have invested in keeping the truth hidden?  It is mating season, after all, who better to mate than your true self?!

Sharing the spring fever,

2-Day Reiki Certification Workshop

Reiki symbol
What is Reiki?  Liz Giargiari of The Reiki Temple explains, "Reiki, pronounced "ray - key," means Universal Life Force, the energy that is all around us and within each of us.  An ancient Japanese form of healing for the body, mind, and spirit, Reiki is one of the most rapidly growing forms of complimentary health care.  Reiki is a non-invasive, gentle hands-on healing technique that can nurture and accelerate the body's natural ability to heal; decrease and relieve pain; induce the relaxation response to relieve stress and promote a sense of calm and well-being; enhance the abilities of the immune system; and revitalize the body, mind, and spirit."

Liz Giargiari of The Reiki Temple, and member of The Consciousness Collaborative, invites you to experience and become attuned to this gentle and profound transformational energy.  Learn how you can channel Universal Life Force for yourself and the benefit of others, including beloved pets.  This 2-day 1st Degree Reiki Certification Workshop will include lectures, instruction, demonstrations, history, as well as plenty of supervised practice.  You will give and receive Reiki during the many practice sessions.  You will also receive the four degree-specific "attunements," which will prepare you up as a channel for this wonderful healing energy.

This workshop will be taught by Liz Giargiari, certified Reiki Master-Teacher, in the traditional Usui Shiki Ryoho discipline as handed down through generations by Sensei Mikao Usui.  The venue for this 2-day workshop will be held at:

Ride for the Cure Massachusetts!

Fight Like a Girl on Horse
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world.  Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
                                             -Margaret Mead

horse at The Ride 2008Lysa Wilkins, a member of The Consciousness Collaborative, has life experience to validate Margaret Mead's words.  She and her group of "committed citizens" will be working together again in the second annual Ride for the Cure to benefit the Susan G. Komen Massachusetts Affiliate on June 7th, 2009.

Lysa participated in the Ride for the Cure in Connecticut the year her mother was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.  "What an amazing idea this was!  The ride combined two of my passions; horses, and with my mom's diagnosis, fighting breast cancer!  In my second year on the CT committee I made a promise to myself.  When my mother hit her 5 year survivor mark, I was determined to start a Massachusetts ride," explains Lysa.  In 2008, she did just that.

Lysa had no idea how many women shared this dual passion, and wasCasey and Lysa at 2008 Ride awed to learn of the many women who would share their stories of how their horses carried them, both literally and figuratively, through the lowest points of their treatment giving them strength and courage to continue the fight.  This connection and bond between horse and rider/survivor brought together 125 riders and more than 50 volunteers to the Massachusetts Ride for the Cure in 2008 and helped raise over $75,000 for the MA Affiliate of Komen.

This year will be no different - except there will be new survivors, new horses to thank, and more tears of joy to share.  Lysa announces, "I am dedicating this year's ride to one of my dearest friends who was diagnosed this January and is in the fight of her life, for her life."  The Ride for the Cure, MA 2009 is ready to trot again on Sunday June 7th, 2009 at Felton Field in Barre, Ma.  If you would like to support this event, there are many ways to get involved! You can make a monetary donation, ride with us, donate an item or service to be raffled as a gift to a rider, or donate your time as a volunteer the day of the ride!  For more information, contact Lysa directly or go to the website.

A Little Spring in Your Step

The snow has mostly melted in New England; and as the earth begins to remember herself, I feel my heart lightening.  As spring bounces in, the contagion infects my yoga practice with buoyancy.  I feel called to more fluidity in my own movement, and on some days I simply groove on my mat while meditative music plays in the background.

Like the spring thaw, it is vital to ensure that there is enough flow in the body, especially the lymphatic system.  The lymph drains excess fluids from the body so our tissues don't swell.  In that process, it helps defend against bacteria, viruses, and germs, removing toxins, dead cells, trapped protein, and heavy metals.  When lymph fluid becomes stagnant a host of problems can develop, including infections and cancer.

Here are a few ideas for enhancing and maintaining the lymph:

Fun Foods: reduce your intake of caffeine, sugar, dairy, and alcohol as they contribute to lymphatic stagnation.

radishes

Add:
more radishes (regular, black, daikon), arugula, watercress, seaweed (especially kombu and kelp), steamed beets and their greens, and an abundance of vegetables.

Invert: put your legs up the wall for 8 minutes 3x a week, as reversing your blood flow nourishes the lymph system and helps the body extract waste.  Inversions are also soothing for the nervous system and will induce relaxation.

Hot and cold: to stimulate circulation try a few rounds of hot and cold before you come out of the shower.  This also helps expel the last of the winter blues.

Scrub: use a cloth or exfoliating gloves in the shower to open the pores of the skin and help the lymph get the waist out.

Go outside: go out for walks, breathe the fresh air, and get things moving from the inside out.

Meditation of the Month
Mirror/rorriM

mirror image
In the spirit of "Mating Season," I invite you to try this simple meditation inspired by OSHO.
The intent is allow your own reflection to energize you.  The combination of your body's mirror neurons and the power of your nimble mind make this an interesting,  challenging, and rejuvenating meditation.

~Stand before a mirror looking at your face... into your own eyes.

~As you are looking, allow your mind to reverse the process, as though the reflection is looking at you, not you looking at the reflection.  You are not doing the looking, you are the one being looked at.

~Feel the energy of this moving toward you, just as your energy moves towards another when you look at them.  Your energy projected toward another is extroversion.  This meditation allows that energy (your energy) to flow directly back into you - introversion.

~Try to stay with it for just a few minutes.

~You may notice a bit of discomfort or fear arise.  Simply notice what comes up for you, and be gentle with yourself.  The "quiet" of this meditation will come slowly over time...after trying it for several days in a row, you may notice an increase in your energy - this is coming directly from the vitality you are creating in these few minutes.

~If this becomes a regular practice, you will likely experience a feeling of silent power.  Remember, this is yours, you created it with your own energy - the power of being centered in you.
