We recently presented an overview of Therapeutic Foster Care services at Morrison. Today we are excited to share with you a closer look at Breakthrough Therapeutic Foster Care services. We hope you had a safe and fun Fourth of July Weekend.
Breakthrough serves the needs of adolescents who have a history of chemical dependency. Their dependency has resulted in serious problems in social, education and vocational adjustments. By helping teens confront and overcome their substance abuse problems, Breakthrough provides a combination of alcohol/drug abuse treatment, mental health treatment, education, competency-based skill development and mentoring in an environment which promotes a transition to a successful, clean and sober lifestyle.
Serve youth 13-18 who are involved with the Oregon Youth Authority (OYA) or the court system
Youth receive an intensive program onsite, modeled on positive peer culture and responsibility for others
Average length of stay is 6-9 months
One or two parent homes are needed, with the knowledge or experience of alcohol or drug addiction and who can support the 12 step program
We are always looking for foster families. If you are interested in learning more about Therapeutic Foster Care please contact Monica Ford at (503) 736-6500 or monica.ford@morrisonkids.org.
Jane Holbrook Named Emeritus Director
"Jane has been a true cheerleader
for the children,"
Julie Young - Morrison Board of Directors
Jane Holbrook was named Emeritus Director to honor her years of service to Morrison. A board member since 1997, and board chair from 2008-2010, Jane has dedicated her life to helping those who can not advocate for themselves. Her commitment to children is truly exceptional. In the time that Jane has served on the Morrison board, over 70,000 children and families have received essential services from Morrison. We thank Jane for her many years of service!
