With Spring's arrival, everyone is excited to get outside! This is especially true for our Hand In Hand Day Treatment clients at our Knott location. The site, along with two other locations, features a Therapeutic Garden. A special thanks to The Cadmus Group for providing seedlings and supplies to get the garden going.

The Therapeutic Garden
Morrison Spotlight
Hand in Hand Therapeutic Garden
The Hand In Hand Psychiatric Day Treatment program serves up to 44 children between Preschool and fifth grade who have been severely abused and neglected. Many maltreated children develop emotional and behavioral problems and the effects of these traumatic experiences are varied and unique to each child. Research has shown that these young clients frequently thrive in a natural setting such as a garden, where they can dig in the dirt, pull weeds, nurture living plants and find a creative outlet for their feelings. In addition, while participating in the Hand in Hand Therapeutic Garden our clients learn about the idea of community ownership and responsibility, the interconnectedness of the world and personal pride in their accomplishments. Our clients benefit from the comprehensive, specialized garden programs that support their physical, cognitive and psycho-social development.
Work gloves and plants from Cadmus
The Cadmus Group
Thank You!
In celebration of Earth Day The Cadmus Group, Inc. coordinated by analyst Karen Jorgenson, conducted a raffle with all funds going towards the purchase of garden items for the Therapeutic Garden at Hand in Hand. Cadmus raised $272. $220 was used to purchase a variety of vegetable and flower plants, seed packets, seed starter trays and a couple dozen gardening gloves for children. The remaining funds raised will be used by Hand in Hand to purchase additional garden resources. Thank you to our generous friends at the Cadmus Group!
Fire On The Mountain Supports Morrison!
On Tuesday April 26 our friends at Fire On The Mountain Buffalo Wings donated 50% of their proceeds from dinner at both locations to Morrison! They raised $2875 for our essential programs and services. That's a lot of wings! Thank you to our friends at Fire on the Mountain Buffalo Wings and to everyone who came out to support Morrison!
