Program Spotlight
Hand in Hand Day Treatment
Hand in Hand Day Treatment was founded in August of 1981 - almost 30 years ago! Hand in Hand provides a year-round therapeutic environment for up to 44 children ages 3 to 12 who have experienced trauma and have high emotional, behavioral and academic needs. An individually tailored service plan is implemented for each family and child after a thorough evaluation is conducted to assess the type and severity of the maltreatment. Day Treatment services are provided year round, four hours per day for each child. The Day Treatment milieu is staffed by an interdisciplinary team that provides therapeutic activities integrated with Portland Public School DARTS Program educational services.
