Greetings Star Gazer!
When the moon is full in February it is called the Snow Moon.
In my neck of the woods the snow has turned to slush and I see a barely recognizable glowing orb in the daytime sky. I think it's the Sun but it's been so long since I last saw it I'm not sure. I just heard a friend of mine is on a boat in Antigua. Grr..... Need I say more? I thought I rejected this grey winter reality when I left the East Coast but it has clearly followed me. If you are somewhere where the weather is still miserable my sympathies are with you. If you're somewhere more hospitable, keep it to yourself. I don't want to hear about it. Not until next month!
This Full Moon is in the constellation Virgo, opposing the Sun in Pisces. The time of the full moon is always a time to let go and release. This full moon is a Supermoon, the second of 5 this year. A Supermoon is closest to the Earth in its elliptical orbit and exactly in line with the Earth and the Sun. Think of Supermoons as supercharged times of balance, release, and letting go. On earth the tides are more extreme at Supermoons, dredging things up from ocean depths, scouring the shore, and leaving treasures. In our psyches, the tides are stronger as well, supporting more potent dredging of issues, followed by release, allowing more room for the new.
The axis of Pisces-Virgo suggests the precarious balance between the urge to merge with Divine Oneness and the discernment to choose how and when, the surrender to cosmic Unity and the need to remain intact and grounded.
Jupiter joining the Sun at the peak of this full moon emphasizes the richness and abundance of our connectedness - to each other, and to all things on our beautiful planet.
Jupiter in Pisces pushes us to go beyond perceived boundaries to the very edges of conciousness, where LOVE resides and binds us to all things and to one another. It is so hard NOT to love. We have to force feed ourselves all kinds of fear-soaked trash to keep the Love at bay and still it shines through, like a beacon in the darkest night.
This full moon is the beacon that reminds us we are of Love. Love is the vehicle, the journey, and the destination, the end-all and be-all of everything.
Higher vibration of Pisces: Idealistic, divinely inspired, compassionate
Lower vibration of Pisces: escapist, addictive, no boundaries
Higher vibration of Virgo: discerning, discriminating, practical
Lower vibration of Virgo: judgmental, picky, perfectionistic
Guess what? You have Pisces and Virgo somewhere working in your chart. You get to choose the vibrational setting to express those energies. Just like you get to choose everything else.
