Greetings Star Gazer!
First of all, YES! Mercury goes direct today, mercifully. And it has been a doozy for so many. Re-working, re-doing, and re-doing again. It's not quite full steam ahead, what with Mars (action) and Saturn (structures and systems) still retrograde but many glitches should have been ironed out so at least you are facing in the right direction, that would be where you are intending to go.
The Moon is NEW in Capricorn today, meaning the Sun and Moon are at the same degree in the same sign. It is also a solar eclipse. During a solar eclipse some light from the Sun (or all, during a Total solar eclipse) is blocked from being received here on Earth. Think of that as time of re-booting your consciousness. An excellent and perfect time to release what needs to go and be open to receive what is coming in. You can't receive more if you do not release what is no longer necessary. Nothing like the cycle of the Moon to acknowledge our own cycles of calling in, releasing, and calling in again. Like the tides, which follow the cycle of the Moon, following the rhythms of the lunar cycle will help you to align with the natural cycles of Life an keep you more in tuned wiht your own natural cyclical process.
Low tide. High tide Bay of Fundy, Nova Scotia The last time a Solar eclipse close to this degree in Capricorn was in January, 1991. What were you doing at that time? What mountain were you preparing to climb? That was about the time I birthed my flower shop. What a journey! Lots of work and lots of joy in the process. Did I mention lots of work? Now I am birthing Priestess Entrepreneur The TV Show: Kitchen Conversations. My new mountain to climb. The greatest thing about climbing is the view! And, of course, the fabulous wildflowers along the way, which are all my talk-show guests! Want to be interviewed? Email me!
Mountain Goat on Mt. Huron, Colorado Capricorn is the third Earth sign in the Zodiac. Taurus is the first, Virgo is the second. Capricorn, wherever it plays out in your chart, is about self-reliance, accomplishment, authority, and where you will climb to achieve your goals.
This New Moon is conjunct Venus. Venus reminds you that what you love and value, what satisfies. The New Moon in Capricorn directs you to focus your fortitude and efforts towards what you love and value most. Getting clear on that is the force behind this New Moon.
Saturn is a prominent player at this time as well. Saturn (the ruler of Capricorn) turned retrograde on Wednesday. Saturn will hover within 2 degrees of a square to Pluto for almost 4 months, from November 2009 through February 2010. All kinds of challenges to structure and the transformation of structures and systems are becoming evident. The earthquake in Haiti and the reconstruction of the American health care system are concrete examples of how this energy is playing out in present reality in the bigger picture. It can be ruthless and many suffer as entire systems are being overturned and made into something else.
In your personal life where this square falls in your own chart is where you will see the effects of this powerful transformational thrust. You cannot avoid the changes so you might as well embrace it and use this energy to restructure what needs revamping in your own life. Do you know where this powerful square falls in your chart?
