Golf Tournaments Can Be Record Fundraisers, but...
Mark Twain once called golf "a good walk spoiled."

Twain's jibe at the sport of kings captures the love/hate relationship so many golfers have with their sport.

Charity golf tournaments often inspire the same conflicting emotions among the volunteers and organizers who host them.  Yet, despite the work, the headaches, and the risk, golf tournaments are some of our most special event fundraisers.  How can this be?

The answer's pretty simple really. While golf tournaments can be exhausting, time-consuming,
and fraught with risk, they can be downright satisfying and profitable if done right.  Ultimately, a golf tournament may be the hardest work you'll ever love.

Greetings!

With golf season in full force, it makes sense to give extra focus to this subject...especially in this economy!  I think you'll find some good information in this issue of eLeaderBoard.

Charity golf is now the number one fundraising vehicle in the country.  There are over 775,000 charity golf tournaments each year, raising over $2.9 billion.  By contrast, the PGA tour raises around $120 million each year.

In our feature article we learn more about how golf tournaments can be record fundraisers.  We also look at how the economy is affecting American companies and, thus, sponsorships, as well as some great tips for building a successful golf tournament.

You'll also learn more about the "Value Pack," a significant upgrade to our tournament offerings that will make our service even more valuable.

Lastly, I'll highlight the LeaderBoard Trivia Quiz System.  This is a great sponsorship opportunity, especially useful in this tough economy with many sponsors still on the fence.

Here's to a great golf season!

As Consumers Tighten Their Belts, They Expect Corporate Sponsors To Do The Same
As Bank of America puts an end to negotiations for a naming rights sponsorship of the new Yankee Stadium and Wachovia changes the name of its golf tourney, a recent study by Performance Research reveals this to be exactly the behavior consumers want to see from companies in crisis - especially those accepting federal funds in order to stay afloat.

How about a free destination trip for 2 people for 7 nights with a $2,000 value?  We are bringing this to the table as well as so much more.

Even more so this season, an investment in LeaderBoard is an investment in your event!

Please call me today at 636.227.2500 to learn more about the new "Value Pack" and other additions that will make your event stand above the others!
LTS LeaderBoard Trivia Quiz System

The LTS LeaderBoard Trivia Quiz System (LQS) is a unique sponsorship option that provides and additional prize opportunity.

Each hole has a full-color tee sign with a trivia question and the contest sponsor logo on each tee box.  That sponsor, therefore, is on EVERY hole!

The sponsor is also highlighted on every full-color trivia answer card given to each team and on the "Big Screen" during the post-event banquet when the answers are revealed in an entertaining fashion for all the participants.

This sponsorship is infinitely more valuable than a hole sponsorship and usually brings in from $2,500 to $5,000.  It provides a great mechanism to take a current sponsor to a higher, more visible level or to elicit a new sponsor for your event.

Everyone can't win the golf tournament and this gives a team the chance to win a prize in another way while having fun and bonding with one another.
