The Park Is Up, and the Battery's Down
New York, New York
Frank Sinatra and countless other crooners have immortalized the charms of New York City in song-the Big Apple has attracted people from all walks of life and all parts of the world ever since its founding as Nieuw Amsterdam by the Dutch in the mid-1600s.
Today, the five boroughs of the city contain one of the best concentrations of world-class museums, theater, retail establishments, music venues, restaurants, parks, and more things to do than many people who live there ever actually accomplish in a lifetime.
John Baule will lead a trip leaving Yakima on Sunday, May 1, 2011, with accommodations at the newly renovated upscale boutique Surrey Hotel at 20 East 76th Street on the Upper East Side. Arrangements are being made for selected neighborhood walking tours, and advance (or on-the-spot) special requests should be easy to meet. For those of you desiring a New York theater experience, tickets can be ordered in advance or the hotel concierge is ready, willing, and able to assist if you want to wait until we arrive. Departure for the return to Yakima will be Saturday morning, May 7, 2011.
The per person tariff of $2,950 includes all the hotel accommodations (double occupancy), breakfasts, ground transportation, incidentals, and the personal attention of your escort, John Baule. Airfare is additional and can be arranged. A deposit of $1,000 per person should be made no later than February 28, 2011. Please contact John Baule at the museum at john@yakimavalleymuseum.org or 248-0747.
