An exhibit of lithographs from the 13th annual Este es mI México contest. The purpose of the contest is to motivate children from all over the world to express what Mexico means to them: its history, culture, landscapes, people, and holidays.

  • Wood Selection
  • Theory of Rubs & Sauces
  • Making Your Own Rub
Learn to BBQ Four Competition Meats:
  • Brisket
  • Pork Butt (shoulder)
  • Chicken
  • Pork Ribs

All meat, rub materials, wood, and some charcoal will be furnished to teams. Cooks will work in pairs as a team. All meats will be submitted for judging by the concurrent judging class and winners will receive ribbons!

Quasquicentennial Celebrating the 125th anniversary
of the move to North Yakima 1885-2010

The Yakima Valley Historical Society and the Yakima Historic Preservation Commission celebrate the 125th anniversary of the move to North Yakima.  Speakers include Les Vannice, who will discuss why the NPR chose a new townsite to the north of Yakima City; Paul Schafer will talk about the buildings that were moved; and Yvonne Wilbur will follow with what happened after the move.

Potluck - 1:00PM / Program - 2:00PM

There will be a $2.00 admission charge to the program for non-members of the Historical Society. 2010 Membership dues are $5.00.

If you wish to join the potluck, bring your favorite dish, your own cups, plates, and silverware.
