Salt of the Earth
Salt of the Earth Film Viewing and Discussion
Thursday, April 8, 2010
7:00pm

A showing of the short, but intense, film, "Salt of the Earth", with discussion by Nancy Rawles, Shanna Stevenson, and Maria Cuevas to follow. FREE

Starring Clorinda Alderett, Juan Chacón, Will Geer, and Joe T. Morales, this film is included in the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress.  The story, about a strike by Mexican-American zinc miners in New Mexico, intensifies when the strikers are forced to stop picketing and their wives pick up the cause in their stead.

Held in conjunction with the Women's Votes, Women's Voices exhibit. This event is made possible through a grant from Humanities Washington.
