The AIA Guide to the IgCC
For Members by Members

The AIA is excited to announce the release of the AIA Guide to the IgCC, a member-created resource giving an overview of the 2012 IgCC. The guide was created by members for members to provide a strong starting point for practitioners to begin examining the new code.

"For architects to begin implementing and advocating for a code as far-ranging and complex as the IgCC, they need a document that covers everything about it," said AIA President Jeff Potter, FAIA. "The IgCC Guide should be part of every architect's client too-kit going forward."

Among the areas covered by the AIA's IgCC guide are:
- a comprehensive overview of the IgCC
- background information on the IgCC's genesis and a        history of environmental advocacy by the AIA
- a closer look at energy and energy modeling
- a chapter-by-chapter summary of the IgCC
- an entire chapter on how to lobby state and                          local governments to adopt the IgCC.
