BUILDING A RESILIENT LOUISIANA HAZARD RESISTANT DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION May 15-16, LSU is hosting Building a Resilient Louisiana: Hazard Resistant Design and Construction. The workshop will include 1.5 days of interactive, moderated panel discussion with industry experts about planning, design, construction and insurance challenges, followed by an afternoon discussion of research findings centered on flood mapping and insurance issues in Louisiana. The goal of the workshop is to bring together Louisiana professionals that make decisions about building design and construction and to discuss ways to make communities more hazard resistant through improved understanding of the "grand challenges" that exist across disciplines. for more information and registration click here. |

EMERGING AIA GULF STATES 2012
REDEFINING DESIGN
Emerging Gulf States is a first-of-its-kind design and career development symposium for and by the Emerging Professionals in the design profession. It is an outlet for Emerging Professionals from around the region (and around the country) to interact and learn from each other and from the defining elements of the design profession in the region. It is shaping up to be an exciting event focused on the growing group of Emerging Professionals (students, interns and recently licensed architects).
