Cheap Eats Outsidecheapeats
With the nice weather finally here, it's a wonderful time to dine outside!  Check out some of these restaurants that offer outside seating:

Church of Boston Nestled in the Fens, this restaurant has a comfort food menu, a lot of seafood, and plenty of $9-12 dishes. It also acts as a concert venue, with live music every night at 9:00 p.m.

Trident Cafe Just off Mass Ave, on Newbury Street, this Bookstore/Cafe has a great breakfast and lunch menu with all sorts of specialty coffees and teas. The six or so outside tables are a good place to kick off a shopping spree or just people watch.

Picco If it's pizza and ice cream you crave, look no further than the Pizza and Ice Cream Company, or Picco for short, located in the South End.

Eastern Standard  Stake out a place in the shade at this restaurant in Kenmore Square while enjoying their unique menu items. Chill in the air? The patio also offers overhead heating lamps for those not-so-sunny days.

Before leaving town, remember to secure your apartment. Crime never takes a vacation!

SECURE YOUR APARTMENT: Secure windows and doors to prevent theft. Consider using a timer to leave a light or radio on giving the impression someone is home.

SAFEGUARD PROPERTY: Never leave your valuables unsecured, even at home.  Secure laptops with cabling and use tracking and recovery software.  Never leave laptops, iPods, or cameras by a window.  Consider registering them with an on-line service, and keep documentation like serial numbers and models in a safe and accessible location.

PERSONAL SAFETY:  Travel in groups; stay in well-lit areas; carry your wallet in a front pocket; carry a purse close to the body; avoid fights and disturbances; avoid shortcuts through dark alley and trust your feelings. When leaving campus, use the Public Safety Division's Safety Escort Service. For more info click here.

roamDear Roaming Husky
Dear Roaming Husky,

My lease is coming to an end this August, and realtors have been showing my apartment to potential renters. They don't give me 24 hour notice before showings, or show up completely unannounced.  I feel like I have no privacy. Am I entitled to 24 hour notice before they enter my unit?

-  Aggravated

 Dear Aggravated,

Your complaints are reasonable, however there is no 24-hour notice requirement in Boston. Contact your landlord to discuss your concerns, since your landlord regulates access to the apartment by realtors.  You are entitled to "reasonable notice"  at "reasonable" times of the day. Negotiate with your landlord and he should communicate with the brokers about appropriate times that work for everyone.
