| Greetings!
Wow! Only a few days left before Thanksgiving. All of a sudden fall has arrived with a vengeance - we're going from cotton tees and sandals to wool and closed shoes a bit too quickly! For me, the (seemingly) sudden lack of daylight hours are the unsettling part of Autumn. Most of the changes of the season are welcome; the receding humidity, (and weird funky smelling Lake Ontario water in the shower), levelling the ugly leggy plants in the garden, and a change of menu to the soups and other comfort foods that we gravitate to now. It's hard to believe we're less than a week to Thanksgiving and approximately 13 weeks to the 'Big Holiday'.
First though, news from the south of France....... The recent trip with my Mom and sisters was fantastic! Each time I've been there I understand a little more the European mentality that celebrates quality over quantity, and timeless style, and a celebration of local excellence.
Here we are in Uzes (the first duchy in France and half an hour from Avignon) where we have returned to for the third time. For those of you who are interested in seeing all 930 of my photos.... . Just Kidding!. . .

Fall Furniture Event ON NOW!
This event includes our best domestic manufacturers but ends Oct 21st - many pieces can be ordered and delivered before Christmas, at up to 25% savings
One enduring French design is captured under the general heading of 'Louis Phillipe", named after the 19th century monarch. The style has been copied since the French Revolution, when the French moved away from the heavily ornamented designs associated with the decadent excesses of the previous regimes. Our own Ontario manufacturer, West Brothers has done a great job of interpreting this style in Solid Cherry in a number of custom stains and paints for our modern needs and tastes. Please drop in and view the collection on sale now! Click here
