| Greetings!
Here at Rousseau's we know it's really spring when we open up the gazebo for the season and fill it with furniture. The wonderful weather that we've been experiencing is a welcome antidote to the gloomy days and chilly temperatures! The change of seasons has brought back to life our gardens, housing market, and optimism. As always, we look forward to helping our customers turn all of their spaces, inside and outside into places where they love to be.
 The blurring of the lines between interior design and exterior styling continues. We've all begun to realize that the 'borrowed views' we see from inside the house are an important element of our visual experience - there should be a cohesive flow. Drop in to our store and we'll explain in detail. We're planning an event in June to celebrate our 80th Anniversary as a family owned and operated company. We'll keep you posted on the date and will look forward to seeing you in the courtyard.
Susan Carducci and I are away this week on our semi-annual research and buying trip to the North American mecca of home furnishings, High Point, North Carolina. For those unfamiliar, High Point is a relatively small town in North Carolina that is dominated by hundreds of thousands - (at last count maybe millions) of square feet of showrooms containing furniture, lighting, rugs, accessories, etc. of all quality levels. The good, the bad and the ugly! Our job is to sort all of that out for our store and our customers! We'll be searching for great products at special pricing. BLUE and WHITE - A timeless look returns again

 Missing for the last few years in 'popular' design , classic and beautiful blue & white accessories, reinforced by fabrics has been missing. With the trend to shades of white in wall colours, along with deep blues, greys, browns and other neutrals, there seems to be a return to accessories with a more traditional timeless feel. This might be a reaction to the antiseptic contemporary 'cookie cutter' look that now has become too boring and ordinary for many people. A newer approach is the mix of clean lines mixed with antique style. Blue and white is a great blending element - it's crisp clean look bridges styles beautifully.

Debuting in the Gazebo is a collaboration of Coastal Living Magazine and Stanley Furniture. This new collection features an amazing number of colours and captures many vacation moods from southern pastel seaside to stronger northern palettes evoking memories of relaxed holidays with something for everyone. This is certainly suitable for suburban homes and also vacation properties. These pieces furnish kitchens, bedrooms, home offices, dining, and casual living rooms or dens.
