Embryo Adoption Awareness Center News


Thank you for helping us make 2009 a successful year for increasing embryo donation and adoption awareness throughout the United States!

  • Webinars presented by the EAAC in 2009 were attended by almost 500 adoption agency representatives from over 70 agencies throughout the U.S.
  • The EAAC matrix identifying four potential agency levels for involvement in embryo adoption reveals: 8% of agencies have a high interest in embryo adoption, 78% are somewhat interested and 14% have low or no interest.
  • Five agencies have chosen to partner with a local fertility clinics to assist both donor and adopter couples.
  • The EAAC presented and recorded 4 webinars to help educate agencies regarding embryo donation and adoption.
  • Agencies throughout the U.S. have chosen to use EAAC brochures, videos and website content to educate their clients about embryo adoption for family building.
  • A public opinion survey sponsored by the EAAC and funded by HHS revealed that nearly 70% of American adults would choose to place frozen human embryos with infertile couples for the purpose of bearing a child.  
The EAAC will continue to provide educational webinars, brochures, newsletters and our website to support agency efforts to provide your clients with accurate and complete information about embryo adoption.  Our Agency Liaison, Jeff Dillon, will also continue to contact you on a regular basis throughout the year.

... Whittier octuplets mom Nadya Suleman seemed completely taken aback when her mother said she should have put the frozen embryos from her fertility treatments up for adoption rather than have them all implanted.
Although Suleman, a 33-year-old divorced mother of 14 children under the age of 7, pondered the idea for a second, she quickly dismissed it for herself.
