Embryo Adoption Awareness Center |
Hello!
In our November 2008 newsletter we introduced our new Agency Liaison, Jeff Dillon.
Since Jeff began working for the Embryo Adoption Awareness Center (EAAC) in late October, he has been calling adoption agencies throughout the country. He has spoken to many of you regarding embryo adoption - what you already know and if you might be interested in learning more. The response around the nation has been very positive. Many of you have asked, "What's our next step?"
As a result of Jeff's conversations with you, we have created a four-level approach for agencies to become involved with embryo adoption (see below). Your agency may choose which level fits best for your organization.
We plan to incorporate a section into the www.EmbryoAdoption.org web site that is targeted toward adoption agencies and embryo donation and adoption. Look for that in February, 2009.
Also, we will be hosting a webinar (on-line seminar) in early March to explain the basics of embryo donation and adoption. A great opportunity to begin learning about this exciting adoption alternative. You may register for this FREE course today by clicking on the link in the right-hand column. |
Embryo Adoption:
Levels of Involvement for Agencies
LEVEL 1 Acquire knowledge about embryo adoption. Agencies will educate themselves about embryo adoption at a basic level by reading material available on Internet web sites, web-based training courseware, communicating with the EAAC. LEVEL 2 Agency staff training and client educator Agency staff members will become educated in further detail on the intricacies of embryo adoption. Agency also incorporates information/resources about embryo adoption to potential clients as part of general adoption education. EAAC will be a source of education materials and ideas. LEVEL 3 Embryo Adoption Home Study Provider Agency has attended advanced EAAC training webinar(s) as well as parent education webinar(s) and is willing and able to provide embryo adoption home studies. LEVEL 4 Partnering with Local Fertility Clinics Agency feels confident of their knowledge regarding embryo adoption by completing Levels 1 through 3 and is able and willing to contact local fertility clinic(s) to begin building a working relationship for a source of donated embryos, counseling and potential adopters. Agency has also established a relationship with an attorney in their area.

"Snowflake" Mom Tells Her Story
"When they were little tiny seeds, God gave them to us and we adopted them."
Those are the words of Mitzi Bishop, the mother of twin "snowflake babies." After hearing about embryo adoption on a radio program, she and her husband decided to pursue the option themselves. What resulted was a pair of miracles that changed her family forever.
