The number of people whose needs can't be met through a call to 211 has almost doubled

 

The number of people whose needs can't be met through a call to 211 has almost doubled, a review of call center data showed last week.

 

In calendar year 2010 we recorded 1,466 unmet need cases. This year, even with a couple of weeks left in the year, that number has jumped to 2,600.

Campaign wraps up
 
Our 2011 campaign is wrapping up this month. Thank you to everyone who already donated or pledged.

Volunteers needed for MLK Day of Service
 

 

There are 13 agencies with 27 different projects available on January 16.  There is a need for over 200 volunteers to complete these projects.  

 

 

 

MLK Luncheon

Registration is now open to the Jan. 16, 2012, Remembering Martin Luncheon in Cedar Rapids.

 

The event will recognize over 22 student leaders who demonstrate Dr. King's honorable characteristics through their volunteer work, school attendance and positive behavior.
