Cedar Rapids Run the Flood
Run the Flood is looking for 200 volunteers from 7 am - 1 pm this Saturday, June 12! If you are not running the race, sign up to volunteer and join in on the fun! Click here to sign up or email Christy Mach at volunteer@crruntheflood.com.
Midtown Fun Nights Mound View and Wellington Heights Neighborhoods are looking for volunteers to help provide games and supervision for middle and high school aged youth for their Midtown Fun Nights. Examples of games include: jump rope, sidewalk chalk, chess, frisbee, hacky-sack and volleyball. Volunteers are needed Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 - 8 pm at Redmond Park in Cedar Rapids. Begins June 15 and ends with the "National Night Out" on August 3. Everyone is welcome to attend and/or volunteer. | Trees Forever Youth Survey - Chance to Win $50!
In an ongoing effort to increase the participation of young people in all of their programs, Trees Forever has created a survey for young people age 12-25. The survey's purpose is to find out how young people would like to be involved in environmental planting projects and what barriers keep them from getting involved. If you are between 12 and 25 years old, click here to complete the brief survey. You do not need to be involved with Trees Forever to participate.
Surveys need to be completed by Sunday, June 13. All 12-25 year olds who complete the survey and include contact information will be eligible to win a $50 gift certificate to the store of his/her choice. NALC Food Drive Results
The National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) Food Drive was held on Saturday, May 8th. This year's drive collected 58,931 pounds of food, which is an increase of 3,200 pounds from last year! Thank you to all who participated by giving a bag of non-parishable food items and those who volunteered at the drop site locations. |
