Forms! Forms! Forms! Medical Forms All mandatory medical forms are located on
the CSS website and are available for
download. All medical forms should be returned by now to Nurse Leigh Saulsbury, 21
Broadmoor Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80906. DOWNLOAD FORMS> The forms must be completed, signed, and in our
files before your student can attend school or participate in sports
practices, pre-season camps, or off-campus field trips. There are no exceptions
when it comes to the safety and well being of your child! If you have any
questions, please call Nurse Leigh Saulsbury at (719)434-3520 or email her at lsaulsbury@css.org.
Summer Mailing Every family received a custom summer mailing with a variety of information forms to fill out. All forms were due back July 30, 2010! While all forms play a particularly important role in the operation of
the school, the Parent Information Sheet is critical to compiling the
School Directory. Everyone loves receiving the School Directory at the
Carnival, but delays in the return of the Parent Information Sheet can delay this publication unnecessarily. If you value your School
Directory, please return these materials in a timely fashion.
A big "thank you" to everyone who has already completed and returned forms.

will be available online. MBS Direct is the official
textbook provider for our school and is a one-stop shop that offers convenience

ROAR Undergoes Redesign As we prepare for a new school year, ROAR, the weekly CSS e-communication newsletter, has taken on a new look! A new feature of the redesign includes a Table of Contents which provides hyperlinks to all the articles. QuickLink buttons down the right column are also hyperlinks and easily allow the user to click on the button and navigate to our popular Facebook page and highly trafficked pages of our website. Information will still be organized following the R.O.A.R. acronym: Reminders (a highlight of upcoming events), Opportunities (ways to get involved and announcements regarding school fundraising initiatives), Achievements (applauding the successes of our students and teachers) and Requests (how you can help the school community). We will continue to publish ROAR weekly on Tuesdays throughout the school year. This fresh new look will also be replicated in other electronic communications. |

Student Spotlight
Lights...Camera...Action!
Caroline F. spent three weeks in New York City this
summer studying filmmaking with the New York Film Academy. She lived with
students from all over the world, and attended classes every morning taught by
industry experts. In the afternoons, Caroline filmed on the streets of the Big Apple. During evenings and on weekends, she explored
neighborhoods, parks and museums, and, of course, restaurants. Caroline learned
about and practiced all aspects of filmmaking, from creating storyboards, casting
actors, working lights and sound, editing, and directing. Each student finished
two films, utilizing actors from the NYFA acting program and crew made up of
other students. Everyone had the opportunity to do each crew job. It was truly
an amazing experience.
Caroline will continue to hone her filmmaking interest and share her talents with the CSS community this fall, as she is working on a video with the Advancement Office for the Annual Fund.

These extracurricular achievements make us a well-rounded school and highlight
the many unique talents and passions of our student body. Each
week, a diverse selection of achievements is highlighted
in ROAR. |
