High Impact Teens
Revival In The Detention Center
Statewide Mentoring Initiative
TRUTH Retreat in Wisconsin

When I told God I would follow His plan and start a ministry to troubled youth I had no idea what He had in store! I remember the first night in the spring of 2008 when I led a Bible study at the Marion County Juvenile Detention Center in Indianapolis. All the teen guys were really quiet. At the end I closed in prayer and thanked them for listening. I started to turn and walk away and they started clapping. Then one by one certain guys spoke up and said thank you for coming. I was humbled. As the months have passed scores of these young men have accepted Christ as Savior and I have had the privilege of mentoring a few of them in the community after they were released. I really had no idea how rewarding this ministry would be and the stories of the lives of these youth are incredible. I just want to do more.

There are several things developing in my ministry this month and I wanted to give you a brief overview so you can pray more earnestly for the work.

Youth Revival - We are planning a youth revival to be held for one week inside the detention center during November. Pray for the planning and the impact this will have on the youth.

Boys and Girls Club - Lebanon, Indiana - I am in discussions with the Boys and Girls Club of Lebanon, Indiana about expanding some of my ministry into their facility. I am interested in doing more in the community where my kids attend school and reaching the youth in our public school. They are very open and interested in my ministry there.

Indiana Statewide Mentoring Program - Recently I met with Judge Steve David of Boone County (the county where I live), Bill Stanczykiewicz who is the President of the Indiana Youth Institute and the local Executive Directors of both Boys and Girls Clubs in our community. There is an effort to develop a statewide youth mentoring program within the state of Indiana. These local leaders are seeking to develop a mentoring program that would include our entire county. I have been invited to join in these discussions and am interested in contributing in a big way to the mentoring of troubled youth in our county.

TRUTH Weekend Retreat - I will be speaking at Camp Chetek in Wisconsin in a couple weeks at the TRUTH Weekend Retreat. This teen retreat is focused on reaching unchurched youth. It will be an honor to participate as the keynote speaker for the weekend.

In Christ,

Ken Turner

Prayer Needs:
Pray for each of the ministry activities I mentioned in this update. Pray for a statewide Summit I will be attending this Friday focused on addressing the needs of at-risk youth in our state. Pray for the recovery of our ministry funding. We are in great need of additional donations while our main source of funding is recovering from the current economic downturn. The situation is very urgent so make this a top priority as you pray for us.

Recently, Widow's Jar Ministries has agreed to act as a "fiscal agent"
of any large donations while I am finishing my 501 (c)(3) application process. Following is their contact information. You may send donations to them on behalf of my ministry.
