Dear Friend,
MAKING A DIFFERENCE. It's an interesting phrase. It's also a great question. Is what I am doing really making a difference? It's one of the questions motivating me toward the new door of ministry the Lord has opened up.
Much of my ministry in the past has been to minister to "church teens" and "church families." Now I am on a whole new quest to reach the unreached and seek to "MAKE A DIFFERENCE."
I was asked to come by the Marion County Detention Center today to discuss using my PANIC (Parents of Adolescents Need Instruction and Care) teaching materials in the detention center to offer parent training courses. Beginning in June I will be expanding my ministry to teaching parenting workshops once or twice per month.
In the beginning I was exploring the possibility of having a preaching service/Bible study in the detention centers but now there are doors opening to serve as a teacher and trainer to parents, volunteer chaplain at least four hours per week and organize Sunday church services. I will need to pray for wisdom in each one of these commitments but I believe God is moving very clearly.
Not only is there an opportunity, but an opportunity to "MAKE A DIFFERENCE." (A huge difference.)
I appreciate your prayers for wisdom and for additional financial support to be supplied. If you know someone who might have a desire to receive these updates or interest in supporting this frontline ministry to troubled youth... please forward this email to them.
