Greetings! My little 3-year old daughter is a real girly girl. She's all about dancing, singing, playing with dolls and everything that is either pink or purple. She has so many dolls in her bed that she can hardly sleep. Life is good! From time to time, she comes into my studio and watches me paint. She always goes around my studio and points out the paintings that she likes. Last year, she liked everything with bold colors. This year, she only likes purple and pink and she makes sure I have at least one of those in inventory. If I don't she'll tell me (not ask) to paint one. A few months ago, I had a client over in my studio. My client said that she came to buy a small painting but didn't really have someone in mind to give it too. She fell in love with a new purple and white piece that I had recently completed. She gave me the money and we went upstairs. We encountered little Chloé on the way out the door. She pointed out the purple painting right away and she said how she really liked it. When she realized the painting was leaving with my client, her expression changed. She didn't start crying or anything but we could definitely tell that she wasn't a happy camper. Since I have clients over all the time, she knows the drill so she was actually a big girl about the whole thing. When I put Chloé to bed that night, she asked about the painting. I explained to her that I have many clients and that it's normal that someone comes in and buys a painting. She told me she really liked that painting. It broke my heart. I told her that I would paint her another one. A week or two passed. I came home one night from picking up the kids at daycare and there was a package at the door all wrapped up. When we got closer, Alex had it in his hands already and said it was for Chloé. I was a bit surprised and wondered what it could be. We went inside and it didn't take long for Chloé to get to the gift. I will never forget her expression when she saw the purple painting. It truly made her day. She turned to me and asked if she could put it in her room, which she did right away. A few weeks after, she created her own little painting and asked if she could put it beside her purple painting. She still loves it and I'm forever grateful that my client bought the painting and gave it to Chloé. What an amazing thing to do for my little princess!!
Happy fall everyone !!

The 2012 Matt LeBlanc Art Calendar
I am in the process of creating a 2012 calendar that will feature some of my work for each month. I'm not 100% sure how much it will cost or how big it will be but it should be around $20 or so. Please send me an email if you would be interested in getting one just so I can plan ahead for the quantities. You don't have to commit to it right now. I just need time to plan ahead.

Marketing award nomination I'm happy to announce that I was recently nominated for a Marketing award from my local Chamber of Commerce. This is an award I would absolutely love to win because I work so hard at promoting my brand. I feel that my ability to promote myself is what separates me from other artists. As part of my submission, I took the time to create a video on my work in all the social media channels. It gives a good overview of what I did in the past year or so. Hopefully this video, along with my written submission, will make me a good contender for this award. If not, it's just cool to be in the running. Please CLICK HERE to see the video submission.
