Greetings!
A great friend of mine told me something about eight years and it really stuck with me ever since.  He actually doesn't know that it now really affects how I approach things.  While we were chatting about running, he told me the following.  If you're running and don't feel like stopping, you're not working hard enough.  If you don't hear that little voice in your mind that tells you that you're crazy and that you should stop, then you're not pushing yourself enough. I never forgot that advice.

In business, if you don't feel like quitting, you are not working hard enough.  I'm not talking about people who work at a job that they hate and they feel like quitting.  I'm talking about people who are working on a big project or pursuing their passion. There comes a point where you should feel like quitting.  This is typically a turning point.  If you can get over it, then success will be yours. It's that simple! Success should be on your mind all the time. There's no other option.

I often get asked by other artist what they should do differently to be more successful.  My question to them is always: are you working hard enough? Are you working hard at promoting yourself and creating your next opportunity? Did you finish your day at 5pm and sit on the couch all night or did you finish your day at midnight after you spent hours making connections online or working on your next venture? That's the difference between good and great !

Go out and work hard !

My 6-year old is officially an artist!

My son and daughter are always popping in and out of my studio and they often ask to paint with daddy.  Alex surprised me this morning.  He came in and said he wanted to paint a small piece, sell it and take the money to buy some Pokemon cards.  Welcome to the business world my young apprentice!

I asked him if his friends had money to buy it and he said no.  He was silent for a few minutes and then he said we could sell it to my clients.  Great idea !!! Who wants to buy the first ALEX LEBLANC original? Well actually his first piece is in my studio but this would be the first one that's available for sale.

I asked him about price and he said $20 should be enough to buy the cards.  The artwork was done on a canvas board so not a real canvas.  It's still sturdy and can be put in a frame.  The size is 16 inches wide x 12 inches tall.  The total cost with shipping should be $30.  He didn't understand the shipping charge but that will be a lesson for another day.

Matt LeBlanc Art in the top 50 finalists at the New York Art Marathon

One of my commission paintings made the top 50 finalists in an international art competition hosted by the New York City Art Marathon and also ended up being the third most voted-for piece of the competition. The painting - entitled Powerful - was created based on my client's décor and stands tall in their living room at 6 feet wide x 6 feet tall.  Thank you so much for everyone who took the time to vote for my painting.  I'm really happy that I ended up third place in this international competition.

The New York Art Marathon is an international art competition, which offers its 10 finalists the opportunity to participate in a group show in New York City. Powerful was chosen among over 600 entries that came from across the globe.

Are you too beige?
I'm really happy to have Meredith Heron write a blog post for my website.  In addition to an impressive portfolio of residential and commercial projects, Meredith has regularly been featured as guest host and design expert on national television programs such as Restaurant Makeover, which has been seen by audiences all over the world.  Her blog post highlights the fact that we are too beige when it comes to decorating.  Please click HERE to read it.

You've probably been hearing some news about this new upcoming social network "Google+" but do you know what all the fuss is about?

Blog Post - Twenty pieces for the city of Dieppe

I just recently made a deal with my city to create a special collection containing twenty small paintings that they will use for various giveaways.

Our society is so driven by perfection.  From top models to the regular Joe, it seems that we always strive for perfection. Obviously there's always the exception to the rule.
