Matt LeBlanc Art on the show For Rent airing on HGTV
Greetings! I'm delighted to announce that I've been working with the very talented and lovely Lisa Cannings from Toronto on three different episodes for a show call For Rent that is running on both the Canadian and US version of HGTV. Each design was unique and offered different challenges but we managed to get it done on time for the big reveals.
The project is now over but will only air in September so I can't really let the cat out of the bag just yet on what we have done for those shows. I plan to create a blog post for each episode and explain Lisa's thinking behind her design as well as feature the piece that I came up with for the room. It was a very fun but challenging experience to say the least. Time was definitely an issue. If you have ever seen those shows on HGTV, everything needs to be done in a quick time frame. I had less then a week to create each piece and still allow two days to ship to Toronto. The show is focused on people looking to rent a new property. From the recent grad in need of a pad, to newlyweds yearning to escape their six roommates; real estate agent and rental expert Jodi Gilmour guides desperate but hopeful renters to a home that fits their expectations and budget... And then performs magazine-worthy makeover miracles on a dime. I'm not really sure how much of my art will be seen on television. It's part of the design so they won't spend time on the piece of art itself but it will still be really cool to see my art on national TV in two different countries. Lisa tells me that my art was filmed from top to bottom but who knows what will make the final cut. I'll see in September with the rest of you guys. I also received great feedback from the film crew. Lisa sent me this note the other day. Today we revealed the apartment with your yellow piece and the host and crew were gaga over the work. The host Jodi exclaimed in front of everyone "I love Matt LeBlanc!" Followed by a digression about Matt LeBlanc the famous actor and if you were related. The renters of the yellow piece are newly married and they were so appreciative. This email made all the hard work very worth it. I love it! Happy summer to everyone !!
