I'm a big believer that things happen for a reason. I really try to be a positive person every time I face a situation. There's always those time when life throw you a curve ball. I usually go through the typical steps very quickly. I was shocked, depressed, and mad and then there was acceptance. It all usually happens within a day. I don't let it drag too long. I would rather focus on the solution and on how I can turn it around. A few months ago, I was extremely happy to sign a big contract with a US company that was willing to reproduce my work worldwide. I had taken all the right steps to make this happen and I was extremely happy when they decided to sign me up. That's a dream come true for a lot of artists. A few months passed and then I got a phone call from yours truly. Turns out, they ran some tests with their biggest clients and it didn't go as planned. These were the same clients who were very excited after seeing my portfolio and said that my work was fresh and modern. They had signed me right away after making that statement. For one reason or another, they were now feeling that my work wasn't a good fit for their clients. After further reflection I realize they were right. This company is typically producing flower art or art for kitchens like fruit baskets or wine bottles. Probably not a good fit for my art. I can thank the art Gods (yes there's such thing) for making this happen. On a more positive side, there are a lot of things brewing at Matt LeBlanc Art. Most of the items will be covered in the upcoming months but here's a quick list to get you started. I've decided to start offering small prints of my work directly from my site. These will be anywhere from 8x10 up to 16x20 or so. These will be printed on high quality paper and made to last over 100 years. They will look great in a matte and frame and the price will surely be affordable. I just recently made a deal with my city to create a special collection for their various giveaways. Very often, they will host important people from around the world and an original piece of art is a better gift then a pen from the city ... don't you think? I will start a painting for a very important person in early summer. That's all I can say at this point. Also, there's a rumor that my art might appear on HGTV Canada. That would be nice, wouldn't it? That's all the juicy gossips for now. Stay tuned for some updates |
