Green Church Online Course
Sept. 17-28, 2012

The floods, fires, and heat waves we are experiencing right now are all connected to climate change!  That means there's no better time to learn what the Bible says about taking care of Creation!

This online course, offered through the Bishop Richard and Julia Wilke Institute for Discipleship, has been approved by the General Board of Discipleship as an advanced course in Lay Servant Ministries.

Based on the book by the same name, and taught by its author Rebekah Simon-Peter, this two-week class guides you in exploring humankind's organic connection to the Creator and Creation.

At the same time, you'll learn ways people of faith can address the challenges currently facing Creation.

Learn why and other Jewish connections to Christmas in Christmas through Jewish Eyes, a

wonderful weekend Advent study.

We still have weekends available in November and December to come to your community!

What's the Culture of Your Congregation?

If you're United Methodist clergy, you may be starting a new pastorate this month.  If you're a UM lay person, you could be on the receiving end of a new pastor.

Either way, it's a good time to consider:  What's the culture of your congregation?

I mean apart from ethnicity, political affiliations, generations and socioeconomics?

Check out the video below to learn 3 principles of congregational culture + 3 tips for better understanding yours!
