What we've been up to....
MRP's first Boddie-Noell owned Moe's Southwest Grill project was opened in Blacksburg, VA this month! It's first month in business, and it is already breaking Moe's company sales records. This was an exciting and unusual project as it was built in a 100 year old building with living quarters above. This is one of four Moe's locations that MRP is currently working on.
Our Market at Jodeco project, which has been complete for nearly a year, aired yesterday on a newscast. Click here to see the video.

A Healthy New Sports Drink... watch out Gatorade and Powerade!
The wholesale US sports beverage market totaled an estimated $3.6 billion in 2005 and is estimated to grow to $5.8 billion in 2010. Category leaders include Gatorade and PowerAde with over 90% market share. Both Companies use High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) as a sweetener. HFCS is blamed for a high level of obesity and diabetes. HFCS is used in all soft drink beverages offered in the US. Health and Wellness is the largest issue facing the food and beverage industry today. A few companies are entering the market offering healthy alternatives to consumers and are being very well received. One of the companies is TerraBody, headquartered in Alpharetta, GA. Their sports beverage, TerraSport, has been featured in Atlanta Business Chronicle and is available in Whole Foods and Harry's Farmer's Markets around Atlanta. They removed HFCS and replaced it with Clarified Banana Juice. To learn more about TerraSport and how you can carry it in your stores, visit www.drinkterrasport.com or contact their CEO/President Fred Fouassier at 770-205-2213 ext 2105. A Natural Preventative
Have you heard about the powerful new natural preventative for sinus infections, headaches, backaches, joint pain, constipation, and kidney and bladder infections?! Ok, ok - it's not new. It's water! That's right! Just drink more water! In fact, try to drink at least 100 ounces of water every day. That's about one 8-ounce glass an hour. Oh, it will also help you lose weight and improve your complexion! Just as the Earth is about 2/3 water, so is your body. If you're looking to improve your health, keep it simple.

A/E price war

Time & time again, customers that I call on are getting amazingly low A/E quotes! I wondered what the result is in doing business with such firms. I thought their builders would be a good resource for answers, so I made some calls. And man, did I get an earfull! One builder explained that their client had 200% more electric than what is allowable by code. Another has had repeated fire code issues and can't ever get ahold of anyone at the A/E firm to answer questions. Another told me that after all the change orders that had to be done because of the inadequate plans (air ducts going through beams?!), it literally doubled the original GC quote. Overall, every phone call I made had a very general and clear message. "Saving money" on plans resulted in spending significantly more on construction, in addition to additional expenses in interest charges, time, carrying costs, mistakes & late store openings. When I first started working here, I thought our tagline was cute and catchy. Now I realize how appropriate it is!! Thus, (our tried and true tagline):
"Good design is priceless. Bad design can cost a fortune." |

Are you overpaying your taxes?
95% of commercial property owners are unknowingly and unneccessarily overpaying their taxes! Most commercial property owners instinctively believe their CPAs are performing cost segregation for them but research has suggested that this tax reduction tool is only used 5% - 10% of the time by CPAs. Annual Financial Budgeting Create and follow a budget for better business results. A recent study confirmed that business owners who regularly prepare a business budget statistically earn more and achieve a higher return on their investment than those who don't.
