Online Editor RADIO ONE

School is back in (the kids are out of your hair during the day), summer is coming to a close (bummer), and we are closing in one another epic election. There are a lot of changes that could be coming soon? Are you ready for them?
Honestly, this election weighs heavier on my mind than the election of 2008. Before Barack Obama became President it was easy to imagine him not in that position. But now that he is in the White House it seems that the battle for the Presidency is super charged. A judge in Texas was interviewed and he stated that if Obama was re-elected that their would be "Civil War" and went on to further explain what he would do including forming a militia (Man I would hate to have to go to court in that city) But seriously why are people acting as if Obama put us in this position.
As a matter of fact what happened to George Bush? Has anyone even checked for him lately? I heard a comedian say that once George Bush got on that flight to leave the White House for the last time no one gave a damn. George Bush is probably the only President in recent history to leave absolutely no positive impact on our country.
But we cannot depend on one man to make our lives better; it's more complex than that. It really starts at home. So what are you going to do about your life, your career, and your opportunities? Are you waiting for the next opportunity, looking for the next opportunity, or pursuing the next opportunity? Don't know the difference? Let me help you. People who are waiting for an opportunity are the type of people I don't even mess with. They are the type who are really content with how their life if or just void of ambition. They may take advantage of the system, accept what they are handed, or just do as little as possible to make ends meet. Someone who is looking for an opportunity is a little more concerned about where he or she wants to be in life. They inquire about opportunities; they may reach out to others to see what's out there for them. Large amounts of people are looking for opportunities. But ultimately having a 9 to 5 and appreciating the fact that they have a job is good for them. Then there are those who are pursuing the next opportunity. I had someone say that looking and pursuing are the same so let me define it for you. To pursue means, "To follow (someone or something) to catch or attack them. The key word in that is "attack". And successful people understand how important it is to truly pursue the next opportunity.
No matter what you want to do, there are opportunities out there for you. Don't ever think that there aren't any options out there for you. Researching, networking, inquiring, connecting, acting, and diligently seeking will land you where you wish to be in life. So as the temperature changes and you have less to do outside take the time to work on pursuing your dream...happy hunting. And while you're at it, chew on this week's issue of The FlyPaper Online Magazine, some great articles this week. GET STUCK

The Rock Gives Tyrese The Smackdown
Video Of The Slap On The Set Of Fast 6
Viral marketing campaigns have officially entered the mobile phone age. A few months ago a clip surfaced of rapper Maino being shot on stage, leading many to believe that he'd been ambushed at a concert. But after some investigation it was revealed that the shooting was a scene from an upcoming Benny Boom film, Dice City filmed on set with someone's cell phone.
Taking a note out of that playbook, rapper/actor Ludacris took upon himself to film an onset altercation between his Fast 6 co-stars The Rock and Tyrese, where the former wrestler lays the smack down on the singer and motivational speaker.
To us it looks like Luda is trying to pull a "fast" one (see what we did there?) but you tell us what you think. Can Tyrese can take a punch, or is this practice for Wrestlemania?

A Funky Flying Car Protype
The PAL-V ONE is a dual purpose vehicle that drives on land like any other car, but within minutes can be transformed into a flying vessel. The PAL-V ONE flies like a gyrocopter, making it easy to take off and land in small spaces. To operate the PAL-V ONE, users in the USA require a Sports Pilot License.
In Europe, a Recreational Pilot License or a Private Pilot License is required. After approximately 20-40 hours of student-pilot lessons, users are ready to handle the PAL-V ONE. Of course, driving the unit requires nothing more than a private driver's license. The PAL-V ONE is being touted as a flying car, and we guess this is an accurate description since the pilot can technically drive himself to the landing strip (that should save flyers hundreds in airport parking!).
The PAL-V claims to be creating a new future in mobility, and we are hard-pressed to disagree.

Pharrell And Mark Mcnairy Collaboration In The Works
Mega producer and fashion designer Pharrell Williams recently announced a partnership with legendary menswear designer Mark Mcnairy during an interview with GQ Magazine. The pair is gearing up to launch "Bee line". The highly anticipated men's line was designed to look like a perfect marriage between menswear and street wear.
Look out for the line in retail stores this fall! Billionaire Boys Club (BBC) is getting an urban gentleman's upgrade and I can't wait to see it on some of today's most fashionable men. |
